When I learned to drive and got my first car, I felt this real freedom. I\u2019d put the windows down, blare out Ghetto Supastar (That Is What You Are) by\u00a0Pras, featuring Ol\u2019 Dirty Bastard and M\u00fda, and sing at the top of my\u00a0lungs.<\/p>\n

Every Friday night we\u2019d go to the roller skating rink, and I couldn\u2019t wait for them to play Kokomo by the Beach Boys, from the Cocktail soundtrack. So I bought it on cassette from Best Buy in Warrensburg, Missouri.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) by Whitney Houston. It\u2019s a classic \u2013\u00a0everybody joins in, so\u00a0you know you\u2019re in for a good time.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m completely over Gangnam Style by Psy. Everybody was doing the dance and singing it. My kids certainly overdid it in my house. Now I feel a sensory overload the moment I hear it.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I DJ loads and always play I Love It by Icona Pop, featuring Charli xcx. Everybody in the\u00a0audience loves it and\u00a0together we sing every word.<\/p>\n

The Bad Touch by Bloodhound Gang.<\/p>\n

The song that changed my life
Freedom Dance (Get Free!) by Vanessa Williams was the music for my first dance competition as a soloist for the Junior Miss Dance of America when I was 14. I only entered for the experience and to learn, but I ended up winning. It sparked a real belief in myself. I was contestant number 12, so 12 has remained my lucky number ever since.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The song that gets me up in the morning
I\u2019ve got three kids, so\u00a0I\u00a0have to get up super-early to make snacks and breakfast, and get everybody changed and out of the house. I need an anthem to push me through and\u00a0get me to the gym afterwards, so Lose Yourself by Eminem.<\/p>\n

My eight-year-old daughter Maple does dance competitions to Human by Christina Perri \u2013 which is about being brilliant, but you\u2019re only human so you can only go so far. She reminds me so much of myself when she\u2019s on stage. To see that little human go up and do superhuman things \u2013 but tell the world that she\u2019s got her limits too, and that\u2019s OK \u2013 makes me cry.<\/p>\n

The song I\u2019d like played at my funeral
I walked down the aisle to Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth, featuring Emeli Sand\u00e9. It\u2019s my anthem, so I\u2019ll have it when I say goodbye, too.<\/p>\n
