More than 13,000 bottles of a prescription blood pressure medication are being recalled nationwide after the tablets failed a quality test, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.<\/p>\n
The recall covers chlorthalidone tablets, a medication used to treat high blood pressure and certain types of fluid retention.<\/p>\n
Inventia Healthcare Limited, an India-based drug manufacturer, voluntarily began the recall on Sept. 3. The FDA classified it as a Class II recall on Sept. 17.<\/p>\n
A Class II recall means use of the product could cause temporary or medically reversible health problems, although the likelihood of serious harm is considered remote, according to the FDA.<\/p>\n
