He, on the red carpet of his previous movie, when someone said, \u2018Who do you want to be in the next movie with?\u2026 said, \u2018No, actually, I want to do it with Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena.\u2019 So because of that, fans were then so excited about the idea of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPugh has played the character of Yelena since 2021 when she appeared in \u201cBlack Widow,\u201d and has since reprised the role for 2025\u2019s \u201cThunderbolts*\u201d and 2026\u2019s \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day.\u201d Within the MCU, Yelena is known as an assassin and the successor to the Black Widow title.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day,\u201d which premiered theatrically on July 31, has grossed $2.49 billion at the box office, making it the third highest-grossing movie of all time. It ranks behind 2009\u2019s \u201cAvatar\u201d ($2.92 billion) and 2019\u2019s \u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d ($2.88 billion). \u201cWell done, Spidey!\u201d said Pugh of the accomplishment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tPugh is set to reprise her role as Princess Irulan in \u201cDune: Part Three,\u201d directed by Denis Villeneuve, scheduled to release in theaters on Dec. 18.
