Charlie Atkinson has become an England international since arriving at Gloucester<\/p>\n

Gloucester Rugby have locked down one of the hottest prospects in English rugby, with fly-half Charlie Atkinson signing a new deal at the club.<\/p>\n

Atkinson, who has attracted plenty of interest from rival clubs, was Gloucester’s 2025\/26 Coaches\u2019, Players\u2019 and Supporters\u2019 Player of the Season as he kept big-name Irish international fly-half Ross Byrne out of the side. Atkinson’s new deal will keep him at Kingsholm until at least 2029.<\/p>\n

A product of Oxford RFC, the 24-year-old joined Gloucester in 2024 and his performances for the Cherry & Whites have earned recognition on the international stage, with six England A appearances and one senior England cap so far against the USA in 2025.<\/p>\n

Head Coach George Skivington said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to extend Charlie\u2019s contract here at Kingsholm.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s someone we identified early on as a player we wanted to bring into our environment, and since joining the Club, he\u2019s had to work incredibly hard for his opportunities. Over the past year, we\u2019ve really seen the rewards of that dedication on the pitch.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a real coup for us to secure Charlie\u2019s future. There was plenty of interest in him, but we\u2019re confident in the programme we\u2019ve built here and the vision for what we can achieve. Clearly, Charlie believes he can play a big part in that as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Atkinson added: \u201cIt was a pretty easy decision for me to re-sign when I looked at all my options. I\u2019m not from Gloucester, but I absolutely love the lads and the supporters, who have all welcomed me with open arms, so this really does feel like home now.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost importantly, I\u2019m really enjoying my rugby at the moment.
