Ruth Jones and James Corden have reunited for filming on their new streaming comedy The Choir. The new Apple TV<\/a> show was announced last year<\/a>, and sees the Gavin & Stacey pair take on the roles of siblings who have been estranged for a number of years.<\/p>\n

A new on-set picture has now emerged, showing the stars’ characters Ben and Lisa walking side-by-side on a rocky beach.<\/p>\n

The Choir takes place years after the brother and sister have been estranged, with Lisa staying in their small English town where nothing happens, while Ben has been living abroad. However, Ben is forced to come back home after an upheaval in his life, reuniting with his family.<\/p>\n

Speaking earlier this year about the project, Jones explained the personal connection to choirs that forms part of the background.<\/p>\n

“We both feel that choirs, amateur choirs especially, bring people together in a way that maybe nothing else does,” she said on their book tour for When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between (via BBC News<\/a>).<\/p>\n

“There was just this idea to bring this group of characters together from different backgrounds, all sorts of different things going on in their lives.”<\/p>\n

Corden explained that they aimed “to try and make a show about community and the importance of community”.<\/p>\n

“It’s just about a group of people that come together every week and enjoy and sing, and it’s really about the life that’s within that,” he added.<\/p>\n

Jones confirmed at the end of last year<\/a> that filming would begin on the series shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n

The pair’s hit show Gavin & Stacey came to an end nearly two years ago with a festive special, which broke records after its broadcast<\/a> on Christmas Day 2024.<\/p>\n

The Choir will stream on Apple TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n
