LONDON \u2014 British police said on Friday that they had charged a 28-year-old man with preparation of acts of \u2060terrorism, including against Nigel Farage, the leader of the populist Reform UK party.<\/a><\/p>\n

Police and prosecutors said Joshua Kerry had been charged with \u2060preparing terrorist acts \u200bbetween May \u20602024 and July 2026.<\/p>\n

Kerry is due to appear at London\u2019s \u2060Westminster Magistrates\u2019 Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been \u200brunning \u2060a hugely intensive and \u200ccomplex investigation for some time,\u201d Senior National Coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing Vicki Evans \u200csaid in a statement.<\/p>\n

Farage, often \u200ccredited with forcing a referendum on whether Britain should stay in the European Union, has \u2060been one of the most influential figures in British politics for more than a decade.<\/p>\n

His Reform UK was leading in the polls until recently, when a combination of allegations over party funding and Andy Burnham <\/a>taking \u200cover as prime minister has \u200beroded support.<\/p>\n
