{"id":790268,"date":"2026-10-03T03:00:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-03T03:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/790268\/"},"modified":"2026-10-03T03:00:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-03T03:00:09","slug":"brain-injury-charity-reopens-shropshire-hq-after-600k-refit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/790268\/","title":{"rendered":"Brain injury charity reopens Shropshire HQ after \u00a3600k refit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The brain injury charity Headway has reopened its headquarters in Shropshire after a \u00a3600,000 refit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The money has been spent on creating a wellness hub, which includes a wheelchair-accessible kitchen, an art room and an IT suite.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Charity CEO Nia Rossiter said she was &#8220;extremely grateful&#8221; for the \u00a3475,000 from the National Lottery&#8217;s Community Fund towards the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;[The National Lottery] came out to visit us to understand why we were asking to renovate our building,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Ultimately, [the building] first opened and was incorporated in 2002 and nothing had been done since.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;[It] wasn&#8217;t suitable for all the needs, it wasn&#8217;t adapted appropriately throughout and there was not enough space or circulation space for wheelchair users.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The brain injury charity Headway has reopened its headquarters in Shropshire after a \u00a3600,000 refit.
