Pop singer<\/a> Kelly Clarkson has shared her controversial take on AI in the music industry after revealing that she is \u201cobsessed\u201d with the divisive technology.<\/p>\n The topic of AI has divided the creative industry, with singers like Boy George and Charlie Puth sharing staunch pro-AI stances, while other musicians, like Paul McCartney<\/a>, Flea and SZA, have turned away from the intermingling of technology and art.<\/p>\n Appearing recently on the Las Culturistas<\/a> podcast with Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, Clarkson gave her opinion on the matter, beginning, \u201cIt\u2019s controversial, I don\u2019t care\u2026 I love AI.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u2018Since You Been Gone\u2019 singer continued, \u201cThere are very amazing things with AI that I\u2019m obsessed with. I\u2019m very into it artistically, too.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite Clarkson\u2019s love for the technology, she explained that she believes that there should be two separate music charts, one for human entries and one for AI-generated music.<\/p>\n She explained, \u201cWhen you see AI artists competing on a chart with humans, I have an issue. I think there should be a separate chart. I think it\u2019s welcome to the table; it\u2019s really cool and creative what we\u2019re going to create with AI musically \u2013 people that maybe can\u2019t do certain things will be able to do it now<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarkson added that AI is a \u201cfun field to play in\u201d, but she draws the line at rewarding robots in the same way the industry rewards human endeavour.<\/p>\n She concluded, \u201cI\u2019m down with it. It\u2019s a very interesting thing and what we\u2019re gonna do with it is gonna be fun, but I do not think they should be competing.\u201d<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the episode, the 44-year-old singer admitted that she frequently used the AI interface, ChatGPT, revealing that she is \u201cobsessed\u201d with its ability to help with her interior design projects.<\/p>\n On the other end of the debate, Queen guitarist Brian May<\/a> recently urged British Prime Minister Andy Burnham to block the huge, \u201cevil\u201d data centres powering AI, as the technology is bringing \u201cimmense harm\u201d to the world.<\/p>\n
