\n\tJeremy Strong<\/a>, now infamous for his dedication to method acting, recently admitted he doesn\u2019t feel the \u201cneed to apologize\u201d to those he works with who may feel he is taking the process \u201ctoo seriously\u201d on a recent episode of The New Yorker Radio Hour podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor, who stepped into the role of tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg<\/a> for Aaron Sorkin\u2019s<\/a> \u201cThe Social Reckoning,\u201d out Oct. 9, was asked by podcast host and New Yorker editor-in-chief David Remnick how much he feels his method approach is helpful to the director and fellow castmates when filming, or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, how much it might throw them off.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think I can\u2019t really speak to that,\u201d Strong began. \u201cOf course, it is never my intention to interfere with anyone else\u2019s experience or anyone else\u2019s way of working. First, do no harm, right? But commit to fucking what you\u2019re doing, and utterly.\u201d Remnick then interjects to ask whether Strong gets frustrated with others on set who may not be so committed, to which the \u201cSuccession\u201d actor responds, \u201cNo, just meaning that I\u2019m just there to commit utterly to serving the material.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued: \u201cSo, if some people feel that I\u2019m taking it too seriously, or it changes the molecules in the room in a way that makes something uncomfortable, I guess that\u2019s something that I don\u2019t feel that I need to apologize for, because I believe, and I think the directors that I work with all believe, that it\u2019s in service of the material, and I personally think that a lot of the reactions to it are of a personal nature.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStrong\u2019s method acting antics have long made headlines. In Sept., Sorkin told The New York Times that Strong was treating his co-stars<\/a> \u201cthe way he imagines\u201d Zuckerberg would treat them during filming. Strong\u2019s \u201cSuccession\u201d co-star Brian Cox has repeatedly criticized the actor\u2019s method acting, calling it \u201cfucking annoying<\/a>,\u201d though he also noted in a later interview that Strong \u201cwas wonderful to act with.\u201d<\/a> \u201cI had no argument with Jeremy\u2019s acting,\u201d Cox said. \u201cHe would be an even better actor if he just got rid of that so there would be much more inclusiveness in what he did.\u201d<\/p>\n
