{"id":792514,"date":"2026-10-05T09:20:13","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T09:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/792514\/"},"modified":"2026-10-05T09:20:13","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T09:20:13","slug":"new-security-lanes-to-speed-up-checks-at-leeds-bradford-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/792514\/","title":{"rendered":"New security lanes to speed up checks at Leeds Bradford Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">New technology means passengers using Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) will have shorter waits for security checks, airport bosses have said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A new Central Search Zone is opening, with extra-long security lanes allowing almost double the number of people to be screened per hour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Passengers are also now able to leave electronics and liquids under 100ml in their bags, rather than having to take them out to be scanned separately.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The airport&#8217;s management says it forms part of their long-term vision to modernise its infrastructure, improve operational efficiency and deliver an airport experience that meets the expectations of a growing region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The new facility features dynamic virtual queue management, which means that LBA&#8217;s team can actively manage passenger flow and reduce waiting times during busy periods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The area also includes six eGates for boarding card scanning, helping passengers move efficiently into the security search area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Individual lanes will be capable of processing up to 600 passengers per hour, compared with approximately 350 previously. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">By the end of the year, a further two lanes will come into operation, doubling the airport&#8217;s current security screening capacity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Dedicated routes have been introduced for passengers needing special assistance, and Fast Track customers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"New technology means passengers using Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) will have shorter waits for security checks, airport bosses&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":792515,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[84,59,56,54,55],"class_list":["post-792514","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-business","tag-business","tag-gb","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/792514","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=792514"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/792514\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/792515"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=792514"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=792514"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=792514"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
