\n\tRoss White and Tom Berkeley, the filmmaking duo behind the Oscar and BAFTA winning short film \u201cAn Irish Goodbye,\u201d have teamed up with Studiocanal<\/a>, Working Title<\/a>, Parkville Pictures and Film4 for their feature debut and landed two hugely in-demand stars as their leads. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe End of the World as We Know It\u201d will see BAFTA winner Jack O\u2019Connell (\u201cInk\u201d) and BAFTA nominee Odessa A\u2019zion (\u201cMarty Supreme\u201d) play a pair of star-crossed loners who meet on an epic pilgrimage to prove the earth is flat.<\/p>\n

\n\tDescribed as an \u201cunlikely adventure in truth and love,\u201d the film is being written and directed by Berkeley and White, with production set to begin Canada in November. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner produce for Working Title Films, while producing for Parkville is Olivier Kaempfer (who previously worked with Studiocanal to produce the recent TIFF-bowing dark comedy \u201cEverybody Wants to F\u2014\u00a0Me\u201d starring Taron Egerton and with Working Title on the rom-com \u201cFinding Emily,\u201d released earlier this year by Focus). <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe End of the World as We Know It\u201d is fully financed by Studiocanal. Film4 will co-finance and executive produce. Anna Marsh, Ron Halpern and Joe Naftalin will executive produce for Studiocanal. Katherine Pomfret and Thea Paulett will executive produce for Working Title. Amanda Drake of Notable Studios is EP. Studiocanal will release the film theatrically in its territories of the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand, and is also handling worldwide sales.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhite and Berkeley\u2019s short black comedy \u201cAn Irish Goodbye,\u201d starring Seamus O\u2019Hara, James Martin, Paddy Jenkins and Michelle Fairley, became an awards season smash after playing in more than 60 international film festivals in 2022 and 2023. Following two estranged brothers who reunite in rural Northern Ireland following their mother\u2019s death, the film went on to win the 2023 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short, the BAFTA award for Best British Short Film and the IFTA Award for best short film. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cEnd of the World as We Know It\u201d sees Studiocanal reunite with long time collaborators Working Title following the recent global release of \u201cPressure.\u201d Working Titles other recent releases including \u201cSense and Sensibility,\u201d \u201cFinding Emily,\u201d \u201cThe Sheep Detectives,\u201d \u201cCrime 101,\u201d \u201cGoodbye June,\u201d \u201cBridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,\u201d \u201cThe Substance,\u201d and upcoming title \u201cWerwulf.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStudiocanal\u2019s upcoming slate includes Danny Boyle\u2019s \u201cInk,\u201d which opened the Venice Film Festival, \u201cElsinore,\u201d starring Andrew Scott and already amassing predictions as an award season frontrunner, and \u201cEverybody Wants to F\u2014 Me,\u201d due for release in 2027. Alongside \u201cInk,\u201d which launches in the U.S. on Dec. 11, Studiocanal also released the O\u2019Connell-led \u201c\u201971\u201d in the U.K. in 2014 and produced \u201cBack to Black,\u201d in which he starred alongside Marisa Abela.<\/p>\n

\n\tEnjoying something of career highpoint at the moment, O\u2019Connell has several major titles incoming, including John Krasinski\u2019s \u201cA Quiet Place Part III\u201d opposite Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy, and Grant Sputore\u2019s \u201cGodzilla x Kong: Supernova,\u201d the latest chapter in Legendary\u2019s Monsterverse, alongside Dan Stevens, Kaitlyn Dever and the late Sam Neill. He represented by Conway Van Gelder Grant in the U.K. and UTA and Range Media Partners in the US<\/p>\n

\n\tSince breaking out in \u201cMarty Supreme,\u201d A\u2019zion landed a series regular role on Rachel Sennott\u2019s HBO series \u201cI Love LA\u201d and will next star alongside Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Dianne Wiest and Toby Wallace in Cody Fern\u2019s directorial debut \u201cMother Courage,\u201d and also in Justine Triet\u2019s upcoming comedy \u201cFonda\u201d alongside Andrew Scott, Allison Janey, Benedict Wong and Cherry Jones. She is represented by UTA, Luber Roklin, Granderson Des Rochers, and The Lede Company.<\/p>\n
