Former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas and his fianc\u00e9 Lucy Mecklenburgh have put their Cheshire mansion on the market for a seven-figure sum, five years after they bought it.<\/p>\n

The actor and The Only Way is Essex star duo purchased the Edwardian property for \u00a3675,000 in 2021, but are now looking to sell it for \u00a31.25 million, almost twice the price of what they paid for it. In the time they’ve had the property, they’ve installed a gym and sound studio.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail<\/a> states that Thomas’ name is the only one on the deed, and that the sale of the property would be a big financial boon for the actor, who was declared bankrupt in 2013<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The actor played Jason Grimshaw on the ITV soap for 16 years, and was on a salary of \u00a3100,000 a year.<\/p>\n

“I had money from a very young age \u2013 and for a 16-year-old I had a hell of a lot of money,” he said back in 2024<\/a>. “So, I did have a credit card growing up and it caused me a few problems.”<\/p>\n

“I don’t regret any of the things that happened to me because I actually feel like they’ve been a real blessing,” he added. “I’ve learnt so much and I don’t think to myself, ‘Oh, I did this, I did that,’ because I’m the sort of guy who takes a day at a time anyway.<\/p>\n

“I don’t really think about too much into the future and during that time I was earning anyway, so it wasn’t like I was jobless. I just lost everything and started again.”<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Thomas opened up about being diagnosed with ADHD<\/a> (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) after his other half encouraged him to seek a diagnosis.<\/p>\n

“I was like, ‘okay, what am I going to lose here by being like, you know, assessed by a doctor to see if I have it that a medication that might really like help my everyday life’,” he said.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
