The report says most patients are treated there without needing onward referral to hospital.

The review also calls for equitable funding for GP surgeries in Buckinghamshire’s most deprived areas to improve access.

Cllr Wassell asked whether there should be a timetable for addressing that inequality.

Committee chair Cllr Shade Adoh said the recommendation already called for action “as a matter of urgency”.

She said councillors would have further opportunities to review progress and hold partners to account.

Cllr Alan Sherwell supported the report, arguing that patients unable to secure GP appointments were turning to A&E, adding pressure to emergency services.

Principal scrutiny officer Elizabeth Wheaton said health partners could agree with recommendations, accept them in part or disagree.

Accepted recommendations would return to the committee for monitoring.

The later closing time remains a recommendation for a pilot. The proposal comes amid continuing calls to restore Wycombe Hospital’s full A&E department, with a petition demanding it return having reached 11,300 signatures.

A council review recommends a pilot scheme to extend opening hours, amid continuing calls to restore the town’s…

[43
102,2960,56,54,55
post-793782","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-healthcare","tag-health","tag-healthcare","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
