The young Lotto-Intermarch\u00e9 rider did so over the top of two hitters, at the top of their respective games: Visma-Lease a Bike\u2019s Matteo Jorgenson and Pinarello-Q36.5&#8217;s Tom Pidcock. He did so with a perfectly executed layback, a veteran&#8217;s move perfected by a near teenager, that required a level of patience and timing many seasoned pros never attain. <\/p>\n<p>The three of them were in a breakaway together, with a chase group closing fast, as they rode under the flamme rouge denoting one kilometer to go. Jorgenson was fresh off a most valuable teammate performance with the US squad at worlds. Pidcock has only been outside the top 10 in one race since the end of the Tour de France.
