Update [Mon 5th Oct 2026, 6pm]: In a somewhat surprising and premature announcement, 2K Sports has confirmed it will delist NBA 2K25 on the PS Store from 30th October.

This game was first released on 3rd September, 2024, so it’s barely two years old.

But the craziest part is that it’ll disable the basketball sim’s online servers from 1st January, 2027, rendering all of its online multiplayer modes and even single player campaign unplayable from that point onwards.

This is because the title’s MyCareer mode relies on virtual currency (or VC, as it’s known in-game) to upgrade your player. Without any online servers, those features will be disabled.

Here’s the statement from the publisher:

“As of 1st January, 2027, you’ll no longer be able to play multiplayer games or access any online game modes. MyCareer and MyTeam will no longer be available, and it will no longer be possible to earn Virtual Currency (VC). While you will still be able to enjoy Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA, any features that require a connection to 2K servers will be unavailable. This includes multiplayer, Online Leagues, and community sharing.”

It isn’t particularly new for online servers to be disabled in sports games like this, but this seems alarmingly premature to me.

Original Story: Once again, I’m compiling all the upcoming delistings, server shutdowns, and general disruptions you should be aware of across PS5 and PS4 for October.

This article was first published in September, but with all those delistings out of the way, let’s now focus on what’s left in October.

Here’s what you need to know about:

As noted above, the PS4 version of Tower of Fantasy will be taken offline entirely on 20th October. You can still transfer your progress to the PS5 version, as well as PC and mobile.

Meanwhile, Fortnite: Rocket Racing will be removed from Epic’s battle royale as a selectable mode at some point in October. (It still hasn’t specified exactly when.)

Finally, Call of Duty Warzone will be discontinued upon the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s Season 1. It’s unclear exactly when that gets underway, but the new game launches on 23rd October, so it’ll happen around then.

One other thing fans in the UAE should be aware of specifically is that the PS3 and PS Vita’s PS Store will go offline permanently on 5th October.

While this isn’t expected to affect global gamers until next July, Sony is making some changes to regional storefronts in order to display local currencies.

As a result of this, the UAE will lose access to the PS Store on the PS3 and PS Vita earlier, so be sure to make any final purchases while you still can. You can find more official information on all this through here.

So that’s everything you need to know about for October.

Are there any delistings here that will affect you? Let me know below, and of course I’ll keep the article up-to-date with any last minute announcements.

Image: Push Square Update [Mon 5th Oct 2026, 6pm]: In a somewhat surprising and premature announcement, 2K Sports…

[6
158213,59,197,112,86,56,54,55
post-794324","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-technology","tag-delistings","tag-gb","tag-ps4","tag-ps5","tag-technology","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
