{"id":794622,"date":"2026-10-07T08:16:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-07T08:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/794622\/"},"modified":"2026-10-07T08:16:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-07T08:16:10","slug":"cyclist-96-reunited-with-treasured-bike-in-cambridge-care-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/794622\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyclist, 96, reunited with treasured bike in Cambridge care home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A 96-year-old man said it was &#8220;unbelievable&#8221; to see his treasured racing bicycle again after his daughter arranged for it to be restored and brought to his care home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Clifford Craske was a competitive cyclist for much of his life and met his wife in Cambridge through the sport in 1947.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">His daughter, Alice Craske, 67, arranged for the Claud Butler road bike to be transported to his care home in the city, complete with its original saddle and dropped handlebars, where it will be displayed in his room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The great-grandfather said: &#8220;It was so unbelievable to see my bicycle again.
