Coronation Street<\/a> star Vicky Myers has been keen to show her support for ‘work wife’ Alison King as she marks a major milestone as part of the long-running show.<\/p>\n

As fans know, the actress plays Lisa Connor-Swain in the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford<\/a>, while her co-star is famed for playing Underworld factory boss Carla Connor-Swain, who made her debut back in 2006, while her 20th anniversary on the cobbles is approaching this December.<\/p>\n

The pair have been working closely together on the show for the past two years after their characters gave in to their feelings for one another, and viewers will recall that the couple officially tied the knot earlier this year in a history-making wedding, becoming the first two women to marry in Weatherfield.<\/p>\n

But as Corrie fans also know, their big day comes after a turbulent time that included the return of Lisa’s ex-wife, Becky Swain, shortly after Lisa and Carla got engaged and moved into their first home, No.6 Coronation Street, together.<\/p>\n

Going forward, however, it seems Vicky is keen to celebrate Alison, as she marks two decades since arriving on the cobbles as Carla. Speaking exclusively to the Manchester Evening News at the Inside Soap Awards 2026<\/a>, the Stockport-born actress said of working with Alison: “It’s amazing! And this is her 20th year of being on Coronation Street. We celebrated that last week because it was 20 years of the day she shot her first scene.”<\/p>\n

She continued: “For those two to be together, but for me to get to work with her, she’s a phenomenal actress. It’s an incredible achievement for her to have been in the show for 20 years, and also, the energy that she brings, who she is… She’s my work wife, but she’s also the on-screen wife and that dynamic between the whole Connor-Swain family, but also actors, it’s just brilliant. It works, it really works.”<\/p>\n

Vicky also teased what’s ahead for the couple, which comes after Corrie fans had been calling for more scenes between Lisa and Carla. She told us: “They’ve got some stuff in the works, there’s the domesticity as well and watching them grow as a couple and a family. Because there’s obviously the aftermath of Betsy’s [stroke] and rehabilitation and hopefully more with Ryan and the Connor-Swains, that would be really sweet.”<\/p>\n

She added: “But there’s a lot of police things as well, with the Kit [Green] storyline. So there’s a lot Lisa is trying to juggle. It’s a really interesting dynamic between Lisa and Carla, and how supportive they are with each other. Because they’re there for each other, they can be vulnerable with each other, and they can trust each other with everything that they do, which I think is a really beautiful thing.
