{"id":798771,"date":"2026-10-11T03:50:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-11T03:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/798771\/"},"modified":"2026-10-11T03:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T03:50:08","slug":"oscar-de-la-hoya-willing-to-make-ryan-garcia-vs-floyd-mayweather-under-one-condition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/798771\/","title":{"rendered":"Oscar De La Hoya willing to make Ryan Garcia vs Floyd Mayweather under one condition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oscar De La Hoya has addressed rumours of a potential showdown between Ryan Garcia and Floyd Mayweather, despite not being directly involved in such discussions.<\/p>\n<p>If it does take place, then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxingscene.com\/articles\/ryan-garcia-vs-floyd-mayweather-garcia-outlines-his-terms-for-bizarre-battle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Garcia has insisted on a fully-sanctioned professional bout<\/a>, so as to defend his WBC title and attempt to scupper Mayweather\u2019s 50-0 record.<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old became a world welterweight champion by dethroning Mario Barrios, who he dropped and unanimously outpointed in their one-sided February encounter.<\/p>\n<p>Even more dominant, however, was <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/ryan-garcia-vs-conor-benn-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">his latest performance against Conor Benn<\/a>, with a heavy second-round knockdown leading to the challenger being stopped on his feet last month.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Garcia has flirted with the idea of facing Isaac \u2018Pitbull\u2019 Cruz while, more recently, being linked to a bizarre matchup with Mayweather.<\/p>\n<p>The 49-year-old was supposed to return to action last month, only for his planned rematch with Manny Pacquiao to be cancelled after the emergence of a multi-million dollar lawsuit by CSI Sports Events.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, this development has only enhanced speculation that Mayweather is experiencing financial difficulty, despite earning eye-watering figures during his Hall of Fame fighting career.<\/p>\n<p>As for a possible clash with Garcia, the WBC champion\u2019s promoter, De La Hoya, has told <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/NTrskgCV00A?si=jgB9-NAB2LL_d-oA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Fight Hub TV<\/a> that he would gladly work with his former rival on making the fight happen, but only if his 50-0 probably record is on the line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know what has been going on. But you know Ryan; you know Floyd \u2013 if they wanna make a huge fight happen \u2026 hey, let\u2019s do it.
