Rosal\u00eda<\/a> performed \u2018Reliquia\u2019 and \u2018Magnolias\u2019 on Saturday Night Live<\/a> last night (October 10), delivering two theatrical performances from her 2025 album \u2018Lux\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The singer was the musical guest on the third episode of the US sketch show\u2019s 52nd season, hosted by comedian Shane Gillis.<\/p>\n

For her first performance, Rosal\u00eda wore a black ballet tutu and remained almost entirely motionless as she sang \u2018Reliquia\u2019, standing en pointe for the duration of the four-minute song.<\/p>\n

Towards the end, a group of dancers joined her on stage, with the performance culminating in a burst of strobe lighting.<\/p>\n

Later in the episode, she returned for \u2018Magnolias\u2019, the closing track from \u2018Lux\u2019. This time dressed in white, she sang beneath an on-stage rain shower that began midway through the song, leaving her drenched by the end.<\/p>\n

Rosal\u00eda also made a brief appearance in a comedy sketch, appearing in a thought bubble to encourage Gillis to abandon his sick mother\u2019s bedside to attend a Jelly Roll<\/a> concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

It was her second appearance as an SNL musical guest, having previously performed \u2018Chicken Teriyaki\u2019 and \u2018La Fama\u2019 on the show in March 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The performances followed the conclusion of Rosal\u00eda\u2019s global \u2018Lux\u2019 tour, which included a five-star reviewed show at London\u2019s O2 Arena in May<\/a>.<\/p>\n

NME also awarded \u2018Lux\u2019 five stars<\/a> upon its release last November, describing it as an \u201castonishing record\u201d that \u201ccontinuously stops you dead in your tracks, encourages curiosity, and builds a new world for you to dive into\u201d.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Rosal\u00eda revealed that Bono had contacted her for advice about Spanish lyrics<\/a> for \u2018The Mirror Maker (Rosal\u00eda)\u2019, a song written about her for U2<\/a>\u2018s forthcoming album \u2018Carnaval De Luz\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Lux\u2019 marked a dramatic musical shift for Rosal\u00eda, following her 2022 album \u2018Motomami\u2019, a sprawling, orchestral record featuring vocals in 13 different languages. Among its contributors was Daft Punk<\/a>\u2018s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, who co-wrote \u2018Reliquia\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The album also featured a collaboration with Bj\u00f6rk<\/a> on \u2018Berghain\u2019, which the pair performed together at the BRIT Awards in Manchester in February<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In May, Rosal\u00eda was named International Songwriter Of The Year at the Ivor Novello Awards, where she used her acceptance speech to call for more diverse voices in the music industry<\/a>.
