When he announced the Iridium Communications (NASDAQ:IRDM<\/a>) acquisition, Beck said the deal sets up Rocket Lab as “a self-launching, tier-1 space power that will deliver critical communications capability to millions of users worldwide.” Iridium stockholders approved the deal in September. <\/p>\n The stock has fallen behind the business. Shares are down 2.22% year to date at $68.21, even though Q2 revenue rose 62% to a record. Several things need to go right for Rocket Lab to reach $125 per share in 2027. <\/p>\n Wall Street Already Sees 56% Upside <\/p>\n The average analyst target is $106.57, which implies 56% upside. Ratings stand at 4 Strong Buy, 12 Buy, 4 Hold and zero Sell. Rocket Lab has exceeded revenue estimates in each of the last 4 quarters. Q2 EPS of -$0.08 missed the -$0.0767 estimate, but that figure included $8.58M in acquisition costs. SpaceX posted $7.81B in Q2 revenue, and $648M of that came from launch services. Launch alone is a large market. <\/p>\n How Rocket Lab might reach $125. <\/p>\n Neutron’s debut: Neutron is Rocket Lab’s reusable medium-lift rocket, and its starting price of $50 million to $55 million puts it head-to-head with Falcon 9. CNBC reported that management expects boosters to fly 10 to 20 times each. Beck put it bluntly: “Neutron demand is just not a concern.” <\/p>\n Defense spending: The FY2027 budget includes $17.9 billion for Golden Dome. Rocket Lab already holds an $816M Space Development Agency contract and a $397M Flatellite award. <\/p>\n Iridium: Iridium generated more than $870 million in annual revenue, and the deal is expected to close in mid-2027. <\/p>\n Margin gains: Non-GAAP gross margin rose to 41.5% from 36.9%. The adjusted EBITDA loss shrank to $8.8M from $27.6M. <\/p>\n The Neutron launch can change the dynamic and make Rocket Lab a viable challenger to SpaceX. With the cost per launch expected to fall from around $130 million to $50 million as volume ramps higher, it would make Rocket Lab a profitable alternative to its rival. <\/p>\n Key risks: Neutron’s maiden year-end launch window is narrowing, and Rocket Lab raised $1.53B by selling stock in the first half of 2026, which dilutes existing shareholders. <\/p>\n Shares Topped $125 Within the Past Year <\/p>\n Reaching $125 requires an 83% gain. The stock has already traded above that level: its 52-week range runs from $37.57 to $151, a swing of about 302%. With a beta of 2.938, Rocket Lab is likely to move far more than the overall market. Analysts already see 56% upside, the backlog keeps hitting records, and Neutron could start competing directly with SpaceX. Execution risk is real.
