Picture: Google<\/p>\n<p>The branch trades between the Pilgrims Hospice and Town Hall House building.<\/p>\n<p>Its closure will leave Romney Marsh residents without any Costa branches \u2013 although machines serving the brand are available in some petrol stations and shops.<\/p>\n<p>The store opened in June 2016, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kentonline.co.uk\/romney-marsh\/news\/is-the-costa-too-high-47981\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">replacing the 650-year-old pub known as the New Inn<\/a> in what is one of the town\u2019s oldest buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The boozer, which opened in 1381, served its last pint in September 2015 after the owners gave the tenant, Caroline Carruthers, notice to quit.<\/p>\n<p>Costa, which is owned by Coca-Cola, runs its outlets through a franchise system but under the Costa brand.<\/p>\n<p>The company declined to comment when asked by KentOnline why the store is closing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A high street Costa Coffee is to close after more than a decade of trading.
