Paul McCartney<\/a> has worked with just about everyone throughout his storied career, but never Bob Dylan, and sadly, it doesn\u2019t seem that will change.<\/p>\n Whether it\u2019s sharing a stage with the likes of Bruce Springsteen or Neil Young, working in the studio with Stevie Wonder or Johnny Cash, there aren\u2019t many people that McCartney hasn\u2019t had the opportunity to work with.<\/p>\n Nevertheless, Dylan has always evaded him.<\/p>\n Now, in the latest episode of Amy Poehler\u2019s Good Hang podcast, McCartney was asked by the Saturday Night Live legend, \u201cI bet you\u2019ve been able to collaborate with mostly everybody that you wanted to collaborate with at some point, is there anybody that you still wish to collaborate with?\u201d<\/p>\n McCarntey then frankly replied, \u201cNo, I get asked this question and I always think Bob Dylan, but I\u2019m too nervous to ring him up.\u201d<\/p>\n He then hilariously played out a phone call between him and Dylan, before agreeing with Poehler that it\u2019s impossible to even imagine the legendary singer-songwriter being on a telephone.<\/p>\n It\u2019s probably wise that McCartney has given up any hope that he may one day work with Dylan in the studio, considering the less-than-complimentary remarks<\/a> he made about his peer\u2019s live show earlier this year.<\/p>\n While on the Rest Is Entertainment, McCartney said, \u201cTalking about Mr Dylan \u2013 I\u2019ve been to see a couple of Bob\u2019s shows, and honestly, I couldn\u2019t tell what song he was doing. Now, that\u2019s a bit much, because I know his stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n The Beatle admitted that he does understand \u201cif he doesn\u2019t want to do \u2018Mr Tambourine Man<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 maybe he\u2019s fed up with it\u201d, but speaking from a fan\u2019s perspective, he added, \u201cBut I would like to hear it. And I paid.\u201d<\/p>\n Famously, their history dates back more than 60 years, when they first met each other in a New York hotel in 1964, which saw the singer-songwriter introduce the Fab Four to marijuana<\/a> for the first time.<\/p>\n It\u2019s all love from McCartney, too, who previously said in 2020<\/a>, \u201cI always like what he does. Sometimes I wish I was a bit more like Bob. He\u2019s legendary\u2026 and doesn\u2019t give a shit! But I\u2019m not like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
