\n\tSally Rooney<\/a>\u2018s publisher has pulled her books from UK shelves amid the country\u2019s banning of a pro-Palestinian group.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Normal People and Conversations with Friends author recently explained that she and publisher Faber & Faber agreed they \u201ccan no longer supply\u201d her work in the United Kingdom, as it could \u201cconstitute a serious criminal offence\u201d over her support of the British movement Palestine<\/a> Action, which a UK court classified as a terrorist organization<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn July 2025, the direct-action protest group Palestine Action was proscribed as a terrorist organisation in the UK,\u201d she prefaced in a statement to The Guardian<\/a>. \u201cThe following month, I wrote an opinion piece expressing my intention to go on supporting Palestine Action, which is not a proscribed or otherwise prohibited group here in the Republic of Ireland.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRooney continued, \u201cAs a result, the fulfilment of contracts to publish my work in the UK could now constitute a serious criminal offence. After a process of consultation and deliberation, and with my full agreement, my publisher Faber has therefore determined that it can no longer supply my work within the UK. I have made every effort to be honest with the public about my beliefs and intentions, and I am wholly prepared to accept the consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFormed in 2020, Palestine Action is described on its website<\/a> as \u201ca direct action movement committed to ending global participation in Israel\u2019s genocidal and apartheid regime. Using disruptive tactics, Palestine Action targets corporate enablers of the Israeli military-industrial complex and seeks to make it impossible for these companies to profit from the oppression of Palestinians.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLast year, UK\u2019s Parliament proscribed Palestine Action as a terrorist organization<\/a> after a group of its activists allegedly entered a royal air force base and damaged two military aircrafts. <\/p>\n
