\n Alleged victim told friend she ‘got the hell away’ after Brand tried to pull her into toilets\n <\/p>\n
We are now hearing evidence from another witness. She is appearing in person and confirms to the prosecution that she gave a statement to the police in October 2024.<\/p>\n
She says she met the alleged second victim in 2020, and they became good friends.<\/p>\n
She says the alleged victim told her about the incident she alleges took place at MTV in 2001.<\/p>\n
She describes to the court how her friend messaged her on WhatsApp one evening, commenting on the media coverage around Russell Brand following the documentary that aired in 2023.<\/p>\n
She says the alleged victim asked her if she had seen all the press coverage, adding: “Did I ever tell you when he tried to pull me into the toilets at MTV studios?”<\/p>\n
In the message, the court was told, she described the alleged incident, going on to say she managed to escape from Brand’s grasp, concluding, “I got the hell away”.<\/p>\n
‘Tell the police’<\/p>\n
The witness says she replied on WhatsApp, writing: “You never told me that story.”<\/p>\n
She says the alleged victim later left her a voice note describing the alleged incident in more detail, but says she no longer has it as she had to delete many voice notes on her mobile phone to free up space.<\/p>\n
The witness says when her friend asked if she thought she should contact the police, she told her she should.<\/p>\n
