With Skydance\u2019s acquisition of Warner Bros. Pictures complete, and with DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran staying in place, a few comments have emerged about the future of the DC Universe.<\/p>\n

Speaking with THR<\/a>, Safran says their new boss David Ellison is up to speed on where it\u2019s all going: <\/p>\n

\u201cWe really took him into the tent and talked about where we see it going over the next number of years so he\u2019s got a really good sense of what we want to do and he seems to be embracing that idea.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first film under the new management is \u201cClayface\u201d next week, which has a confirmed budget of just $30 million. That\u2019s very good news as the film is currently tracking for a $29 million domestic and $46 million worldwide opening weekend. Safran adds:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always talked about the idea that a DC slate should have tremendous scope of tones and vibes and scales and scopes and budget levels. The fact that we get to make a DC movie that is a pure body horror movie, that is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gunn has also shot down three recent rumours \u2013 that Matt Reeves is off \u201cThe Batman: Part II,\u201d that Milly Alcock has been fired from the Supergirl role and that \u201cMan of Tomorrow\u201d has test screened. Gunn says on Threads<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys just have to stop listening to BS, and I\u2019m mostly done shooting down rumours as there are so many, and I\u2019m not on here much. But all three of these couldn\u2019t be more false. I\u2019m showing PETER SAFRAN my first Director\u2019s Cut [of Man of Tomorrow] today \u2013 he\u2019s the first person to see it obviously \u2013 and that\u2019s a month early.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gunn did confirm that Josh Hutcherson and Mackenzie Davis will voice Mister Miracle and Big Barda in the \u201cMister Miracle\u201d animated series, blaming Safran\u2019s \u201cloose lips\u201d for that casting getting out.<\/p>\n
