Tom Hanks<\/a> is one of the rare stars left in Hollywood who will get people out of their house and to their local cinema because his name is on the poster.<\/p>\n

Since the late 1980s, when he broke out with roles in Ron Howard\u2019s Splash and Penny Marshall\u2019s Big, Hanks has grown from strength to strength, scooping two Academy Awards back-to-back for roles in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump and entering into a comfortable stream of blockbusters with top-flight directors.<\/p>\n

Renowned for his extensive filmography, inherent kindness and approachability, Hanks has won the hearts of audiences worldwide<\/a>. His affability extends far beyond his on-screen characters, permeating into real-life interactions and authentic moments that often catch the public\u2019s eye in the most heartfelt and charming ways.<\/p>\n

The husband replied frankly that \u201cit wasn\u2019t that good\u201d, with his wife diplomatically adding that they\u2019d expected a little more from him. And what did Hanks do? He pulled $25 from his pocket and gave filmgoers their money back.<\/p>\n
