Ricky Hatton\u2019s family have shared their frustration as they wait to see what will happen to the legendary boxer\u2019s estate. The former world<\/a> champion was found dead in his home on September 14, 2025.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Hitman\u2019 was beloved by boxing fans<\/a> throughout his career and claimed world title belts across two divisions. Hatton<\/a> retired from professional boxing<\/a> in 2012 but returned for an exhibition a decade later and was preparing for another comeback bout against Eisa Al Dah in Dubai at the time of his death.<\/p>\n

His celebrated career and numerous business ventures led to reports that Hatton was worth around \u00a340million, although his parents have questioned whether that might be an overestimation of what he left behind. Regardless, more than a year since his passing and in the absence of a will, as far as his parents and eldest son Campbell understand, his family are still waiting for answers over when the missing money will be distributed.<\/p>\n

Former boxer Campbell, 25, has complained about the process after attempting to clarify when his father\u2019s estate will be shared between him and his two half-sisters. Ricky\u2019s parents Ray and Carol<\/a> have also shared their worries following what they claim has been a lack of transparency.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lack of answers is concerning,\u201d Campbell told the Daily Mail<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve asked the questions and I can\u2019t see why I\u2019m not getting the information.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ricky\u2019s mother Carol claims the lack of transparency given to Campbell has approached \u201cinhumane\u201d. Discussing his grandson\u2019s efforts to gain clarity on the situation, Ray Hatton said: \u201cCampbell isn\u2019t grabbing at money, he\u2019s not saying, \u2018Give me and my sisters \u00a35m each\u2019. He just wants to know what is going on and these people are telling him nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is understood that Hatton\u2019s estate is held within the Dorothy Hatton Discretionary Trust, named after Ricky\u2019s grandmother. The trust is controlled by the boxer\u2019s former secretary Catherine Lomas and his former legal adviser Paul Dodds, with Campbell claiming that his phone calls have been blocked.<\/p>\n

Ricky\u2019s son states that the trust have referred his correspondence to law firm Muckle and he has enlisted his own solicitor to help his search for answers. There is no suggestion of wrongdoing by Lomas or Dodds, but the wait for an outcome has not eased the family\u2019s pain. It is also not uncommon for the dispersal of larger estates to take 12 months or more.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything we\u2019re telling you here is not for us \u2013 I promise you,\u201d Ray explained. \u201cWe want nothing from Richard\u2019s estate. Carol would maybe like his MBE and that\u2019s it. The money, whatever else, it\u2019s all for his kids, not us.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I will tell you something, I do want to know how much was left because when I came off his trust, in 2011, he was well set financially and we\u2019ve heard a lot of things since then.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWhen I read about a \u00a340m estate, that sounded about right for what it should have been by now. But I\u2019ve heard from people around Richard that by the time he passed he had bridging loans on properties.<\/p>\n

“He didn\u2019t live an expensive life, so why would Richard need a bridging loan?
