Coelho<\/a>, Bill van Zyll, Vice President and General Manager for Nintendo in Latin America spoke about the reception to all things Zelda. According to van Zyll, the Legend of Zelda franchise is a \u201cglobal phenomenon,\u201d and even though Nintendo thought they were going to be good when it came to stock for the 40th anniversary products, they underestimated consumer response. The good news is that stock replenishment is on the way, but timing for those drops hasn\u2019t been specified, and it will obviously differ between regions.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, if we expected it, we wouldn\u2019t be in that situation, right? At least not to this extent. I will tell you that it\u2019s a global phenomenon. We have this issue absolutely everywhere. We apologize for that. That certainly is not the intent. We underestimated how well it would be received. And there\u2019s certainly some markets that stand out.<\/p>\n
The United States did extremely well as well. It\u2019s a global phenomenon where they\u2019re running out of product. The pre-sales are hitting their max, and certainly that\u2019s what happened to us in Brazil.<\/p>\n
We are working on replenishments of the special hardware and the software, but it\u2019ll take a little bit of time. So I\u2019m going to use this on you now: please be patient. But yeah, to answer your question, it caught us by surprise. We expected a positive response, but the magnitude, I mean, it\u2019s amazing.<\/p>\n
Yes (a Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 restock is coming). I can\u2019t tell you dates right now. We\u2019re working on it. I can\u2019t tell you quantities right now. Again, all being worked on, but that is the plan that we have right now \u2013 the special controller, the hardware, the software.\u201d<\/p>\n
