Railway lines through Guildford have been temporarily closed due to engineering works.<\/p>\n
Lines will be shut between the town and Aldershot in Hampshire, as well as between Woking and Haslemere in Surrey, throughout Sunday, according to South Western Railway.<\/p>\n
Its services between London Waterloo and Guildford or Portsmouth Harbour will be replaced by buses for the closed sections of their routes.<\/p>\n
Great Western Railway said its trains from Reading, in Berkshire, to Gatwick Airport will stop at North Camp, with replacement buses provided.<\/p>\n
Buses will stop at Guildford and Gatwick and will also replace trains between North Camp and Redhill, it said.<\/p>\n
South Western Railway warned passengers “replacement vehicles may be busier than usual” and advised allowing extra time for journeys.<\/p>\n
The lines through Guildford are expected to reopen on Monday.<\/p>\n
Further closures for engineering works are scheduled for 25 October between Guildford and Petersfield, Hampshire, and on the line to Gatwick, with buses again replacing trains on affected services.<\/p>\n
