{"id":807396,"date":"2026-10-19T08:50:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T08:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/807396\/"},"modified":"2026-10-19T08:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T08:50:08","slug":"plan-for-3-8m-health-facility-in-rutland-set-for-approval","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/807396\/","title":{"rendered":"Plan for \u00a33.8m health facility in Rutland set for approval"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Plans for a new \u00a33.8m healthcare facility in Rutland are set to be given the go-ahead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Rutland County Council&#8217;s planning committee is recommended to approve an application by the authority to build a health and innovation centre at Oakham Enterprise Park at a meeting on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">According to planning documents, the facility &#8211; named the Medi-Tech Centre &#8211; would comprise consultation rooms, two operating theatres, diagnostic and recovery facilities as well as space for healthcare research.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A report submitted by the authority states: &#8220;The proposal would deliver a new medical facility providing enhanced healthcare provision alongside healthcare-related enterprise, research and innovation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Plans state the proposed site would include 40 car parking spaces, a patient\/ambulance drop-off area and an area for a mobile MRI unit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Liberal Democrat-run council previously said the health centre would be managed and operated by Patient Care Locally CIC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Documents state the scheme will be funded by a \u00a33.77m Levelling Up Fund grant from the government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Council leader Christine Wise previously said: &#8220;The plans represent a significant investment in the future of Rutland&#8217;s healthcare, highlighting partnership working that aims to bring more services closer to home, whilst creating opportunities for innovation and skilled employment.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Plans for a new \u00a33.8m healthcare facility in Rutland are set to be given the go-ahead.
