A Lynn singer has described receiving the \u201cmost amazing response\u201d to his participation in a national contest, as his time on the show has come to an end.<\/p>\n

Adam Tucker, 30, who provided the singing voice of Robbie Williams in the pop star\u2019s 2024 biopic Better Man<\/a>, had made it through to the battle rounds of The Voice UK.<\/p>\n

Adam performed \u2018Iris\u2019 by Goo Goo Dolls in a battle against fellow contestant Jack Algar in the latest episode, which aired on Saturday evening, after which the ITV show\u2019s judging panel said Adam and Jack \u201cabsolutely smashed\u201d their vocals.<\/p>\n

But when McFly coaching duo Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher had to whittle their team from seven down to three, they decided not to take Adam through to this week\u2019s semi-final.<\/p>\n

It comes after Adam impressed the judges as he sang Williams\u2019 hit song \u2018Feel\u2019<\/a> during the first \u2018blind\u2019 auditions round, and became part of \u2018Team Tom and Danny\u2019 when they turned their chair around for him.<\/p>\n

In the latest episode, guest mentors Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter – the other two members of the band McFly – joined Tom and Danny to help them choose which singers to take through to the semi-final.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Ahead of the \u2018battle\u2019, Adam said: \u201cI grew up with McFly. It\u2019s crazy that I\u2019ve been to watch them, and now it\u2019s kind of a weird full-circle moment that they\u2019re now watching me perform.\u201d<\/p>\n

After saying that he is usually a \u201cpretty cool, calm and collected person\u201d, the Lynn singer admitted that he was feeling \u201cso nervous\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cNow it gives me the chance to show people that I can sing outside of Robbie Williams, so it\u2019s going to be an exciting day.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Team Tom and Danny, Adam was up first against 17-year-old Jack, and – after performing their duet – the coaches said the song had suited \u201cboth of you so well\u201d, adding: \u201cYou both absolutely smashed it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The McFly members agreed that it was also \u201cnice to hear Adam being Adam\u201d, and that he had not sounded as though he was impersonating Robbie Williams during the track.<\/p>\n

Before revealing who they had chosen to go through to the next round of the contest, the coaches said: \u201cAdam, what\u2019s been so nice is seeing you have this chance to show everyone who you are, and I feel like you really did that today.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Lynn musician – who has this year performed at the town\u2019s Festival Too – was not disheartened by his time on the competition coming to an end.<\/p>\n

He told the Lynn News: \u201cI\u2019ve had the most amazing response to my battle round song and was super happy with how it turned out and sounded.<\/p>\n

\u201cI left nothing on the stage.\u201d<\/p>\n
