(Photo by Warren Little\/Getty Images) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"expand\" src=\"https:\/\/eu-cdn.rugbypass.com\/images\/common-svg\/select-arrow.svg\" height=\"6\" width=\"11\"\/>      <a href=\"https:\/\/google.com\/preferences\/source?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rugbypass.com%2F\" onclick=\"GATracking.sendDataLayerEvent(&#039;preferredsourcegoogle&#039;);\" aria-label=\"Google Prefered Source\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1792536012_185_google_preferred_source_badge_light.png\" alt=\"Google Prefered Source\" width=\"141\" height=\"44\" class=\"google-source\"\/> <\/a>     <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/england\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England<\/a> centre Benhard Janse van Rensburg has committed his future to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/bristol\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bristol<\/a> Bears, signing a new contract with the club.<\/p>\n<p>The South African-born midfielder has been with Bristol since 2023, having previously played in the PREM for London Irish.<\/p>\n<p>A cornerstone of the Bears\u2019 backline, Janse van Rensburg is approaching 75 competitive appearances for the club and made his Test debut for England in July during the Nations Championship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m absolutely delighted BV has extended his time at Bristol as he is genuinely one of the best players I have had the privilege to coach,\u201d said Bears DoR Pat Lam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason everyone marvels at his consistency of performance week in and out, is all down to his incredible attitude and desire to represent his family with pride and not let his team down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s extremely coachable and the high standards he sets for himself, both in training and on matchdays, is why he\u2019s one of the most respected players in the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBV has become a hugely important part of our team here at Bristol, and we\u2019re excited to see him continue to grow and take his game to another level of performance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Janse van Rensburg said: \u201cI\u2019m really happy to be staying at Bristol. I\u2019ve loved my time here so far and it was an easy decision to commit my future to the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got a great group of players, coaches and staff, and I genuinely believe in what we\u2019re trying to achieve together. There\u2019s a lot of ambition within this squad and I want to be part of taking this club forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve really enjoyed the way we play rugby here.
