\n The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated Magnolia House in Sandown as good overall and across five specific areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.\n<\/p>\n
\n Run by Trustmark Care, the home provides care for elderly people with dementia and physical disabilities.\n<\/p>\n
\n Jackie Bates, manager at Magnolia House, thanked her staff for their commitment, teamwork and dedication which she said make a difference to the lives of residents every single day.\n<\/p>\n
\n The CQC said its assessment was the first for the service since its registration under a new provider and was prompted due to concerns raised in relation to the provision of person-centred care.\n<\/p>\n
\n Its October 19 report said: \u201cStaff knew people well and understood their routines, preferences, communication needs and what was important to them.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cOverall, the care provided enabled people to feel secure, included and accepted, maintain meaningful independence and receive timely support tailored to their individual needs.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Inspectors also noted that systems were in place to identify and manage risks, with accidents and incidents investigated and reviewed to reduce recurrence, and effective safeguarding.\n<\/p>\n
\n They said staffing levels reflected people\u2019s assessed needs and employees received appropriate training, supervision and competency assessments.\n<\/p>\n
\n Ms Bates said: \u201cWe are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, but we know that providing excellent care is an ongoing commitment.\n<\/p>\n
