A popular weight-loss shot has been recalled across the country by the Food and Drug Administration due to potential contamination.<\/p>\n
Apothecary Pharma, the US-based compounding pharmacy that issued the initial recall back in September, had already been on the agency\u2019s radar and previously received a warning.<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s become a way for manufacturers to get around strict FDA regulations and offer steep discounts.<\/p>\n While most people on GLP-1s use the brand-name stuff, as many as 5 million are on compounded versions<\/a>. Many people get these compounded versions through telehealth companies, which ship them directly to patients.<\/p>\n Compounded drugs are not reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality before they\u2019re put on the market.<\/p>\n![\"A](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/145827657.jpg\")
