\u201cThe race at Colonial, she was on the outside and never really got herself into the race,\u201d said assistant trainer Kathryn Sullivan, of the filly who closed out her 2024 campaign by notching her first graded stakes victory in the Maple Leaf Stakes (G3) on November 9. \u201cIt was a bit of a strange race for her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bred by Anderson Farms Ont. Inc., the chestnut was the 2023 Woodbine Oaks winner and King\u2019s Plate runner-up that same year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think she will be happy coming back to Woodbine,\u201d said Sullivan. \u201cShe has always run well here, so we are looking forward to a good race.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elysian Field was a $70,000 purchase at the 2022 OBS Company June Two-Year-Olds & Horses of Racing Age Sale. \u200b<\/p>\n

With the win, the 4-year-old daughter of Silent Name (JPN) out of the Malibu Moon mare Malibu Sunrise is now 5-4-1 from 14 starts, accompanied by $288,242 in purse earnings.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was really impressive,\u201d said Sullivan. \u201cThe way she continued to go on with it [was the most impressive part of the win]. She finished up so strong.\u201d<\/p>\n Bred and owned by Gabe Grossberg, Olivia Rose won the 2023 running of the South Ocean Stakes, and last year\u2019s editions of the Fury Stakes and Thunder Bay Stakes.<\/p>\n Olivia Rose broke her maiden in her third career start, on August 26, 2023, a 13 \u00be-length stunner over 6 \u00bd furlongs on the Woodbine main track.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s another one who has been so consistent and always up for the task,\u201d said Sullivan. \u201cHopefully, she can come up with another big performance on Saturday. This is a step up for her.
