Antlers\u00a0and \u201cServant\u201d writer\u00a0Henry Chaisson makes his feature directorial debut on the gothic horror-thriller Recluse, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a grief-stricken character study that\u2019s full of upsetting visuals that scratch at something visceral and raw.\u201d<\/p>\n

So when can you actually watch it for yourself? Deadline<\/a> reports this afternoon that Vertical has picked up Recluse for distribution here in the United States, with a 2027 release planned.<\/p>\n

Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Hokum, Undertone) executive produce Recluse through his label Spooky Pictures. \u201cRecluse is pure nightmare fuel \u2013 blending chilling storytelling, striking visuals and haunting sound design to deliver a totally immersive horror experience,\u201d Schneider said in a statement. \u201cWith this fearless and loud debut, Henry is emerging as the next great horror auteur \u2013 and as the film begins its festival journey, it\u2019s a thrill to be along for the ride.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sasha Frolova\u00a0(The Empty Man) stars in Recluse as Joan, a solitary audio engineer who returns to her family\u2019s decaying country estate after receiving a call from her ailing father, an acclaimed but reclusive artist rumored to have dabbled in the occult.<\/p>\n

Unearthing a malevolent secret decades in the making, Joan must determine whether the horrors she faces are the product of her father\u2019s misdeeds or her own troubled mind.<\/p>\n
