It emerged the nurse had been prescribing patients\u2019 courses of Ozempic and Trulicity, printing them off on paper, and then ending the course on the patients\u2019 records to ensure they would not appear there.<\/p>\n
The NMC panel described her actions, which involved five patients, as \u201ccalculated and sophisticated\u201d.<\/p>\n
It found that, in January 2022, Mrs Didymus restarted a course of Trulicity for one patient with \u201cno clinical basis\u201d before ending the entry on their medical record.<\/p>\n
The drug had previously been prescribed to the patient in 2018, but was not continued as they had an adverse reaction.<\/p>\n
The next month, Mrs Didymus prescribed a 12-month course of Ozempic for the same patient after a telephone consultation.<\/p>\n
The NMC said Ozempic was not discussed and there was \u201cno clinical indication for that prescription\u201d.<\/p>\n
Printing prescriptions<\/p>\n
Mrs Didymus printed the prescription, and ended it around 20 minutes later on the record using the reason \u201cerror\u201d.<\/p>\n
In June that year she issued another 12-month course of Ozempic for the same patient despite not having a consultation with them.<\/p>\n
She printed a paper prescription and ended the course with the reason \u201cdidn\u2019t use\u201d, then collected the medication herself at a pharmacy.<\/p>\n
According to an email between Mrs Didymus and the lead pharmacist, the cost of the items dispensed was \u00a3822.<\/p>\n
In January 2023, she accessed another patient\u2019s records with no consultation, issued a four-week course of semaglutide and collected the prescription herself.<\/p>\n
Later the same month, and for the same patient, she printed another prescription for the drug before ending the record with \u201cwrong PT\u201d.<\/p>\n
