Hall of Famer Andre Ward<\/a> has shared his final thoughts on the upcoming \u2018super-fight\u2019 between Canelo Alvarez<\/a> and Terence Crawford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pound-for-pound greats are set to do battle for the undisputed super-middleweight championship on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u2018Bud\u2019 Crawford will make his first appearance at 168lbs when he clashes with the Mexican icon, having spent almost the entirety of his career campaigning at welterweight where he became the undisputed champion with a victory over Errol Spence Jr in July of 2023.<\/a><\/p>\n

Canelo has been a dominant force at super-middleweight since making the move up from 160lbs back in 2018, defeating the likes of Callum Smith, Jaime Munguia and Gennady Golovkin along the way.<\/p>\n

Another man who knows what it is like to be dominant at 168lbs is Ward, who defeated fighters such as Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler and Arthur Abraham at super-middleweight before ending his career with back-to-back wins over Sergey Kovalev at light heavyweight.<\/p>\n

Posting on social media<\/a>, Ward shared his verdict ahead of the impending clash between Canelo and Crawford, as he admits that whilst the Mexican icon has a significant \u2018ring presence\u2019, he believes \u2018Bud\u2019 is one of the \u2018greatest finishers of all time\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of Canelo\u2019s greatest strengthens is his ring presence. Even when he\u2019s resting he\u2019s coming forward looking as if he\u2019s in control. This has the ability to unnerve and drain his opponents because they feel like they can never rest.<\/p>\n

\u201cTerence Crawford is one of the greatest finishers of this era and one of the greatest finishers of all-time. If he gets you badly hurt, he\u2019s going to finish you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey both can box but that\u2019s not really what they want to do, they want to inflict damage. When they do box they are either resting, regrouping or getting into position for what they really want to do: land a shot that is going to change the course of the fight or end the night \u2026 Both Canelo and Crawford will have to deal with one another\u2019s power \u2013 and I\u2019m not going to argue about [that].\u201d<\/p>\n
