President Donald Trump<\/a> claimed the U.S. has the \u201cbest healthcare plans in the world,\u201d<\/a> even if not everybody has coverage.. <\/p>\n Trump made the bold claim <\/a>as part of a wide-ranging and rambling interview Sunday morning with Larry Kudlow on Fox News, <\/p>\n \u201cWe have the best healthcare plans in the world. Now that doesn\u2019t cover everybody, but it covers a lot of people,\u201d Trump said. <\/p>\n \u201cAnd, you tell the union, you tell the autoworkers, they\u2019re going to lose their healthcare plans\u2026\u201d Trump said, seemingly referring to autoworker futures. \u201cIt\u2019s socialized medicine, and it never works.\u201d<\/p>\n Kudlow began the interview by telling Trump he thinks he\u2019s been \u201con a roll\u201d campaigning for GOP candidates ahead of November\u2019s midterm elections. <\/p>\n \u201cI mean, you\u2019ve been relentless, you\u2019ve been campaigning. It\u2019s herculean. You\u2019re turning the tide, you\u2019re getting voters out, you\u2019re raising enthusiasm,\u201d Kudlow said. <\/p>\n \u201cThe economy is booming. We\u2019re the hottest in the world, stocks are doing great, drug prices are coming down. Oil is flowing through the Persian Gulf. I mean, I think in the last month you may have turned this whole thing around,\u201d Kudlow claimed before asking if Trump thinks Republicans can maintain the majority in the House and Senate this Election Day. <\/p>\n \u201cI have worked very hard, I have done 14 rallies in nine days, and it\u2019s a lot,\u201d Trump, 80, replied. <\/a><\/p>\n Trump has embarked on a campaigning blitz across the country, trying to motivate his MAGA base in a near-daily barnstorming effort to boost<\/a> the Republicans\u2019 prospects in the midterms<\/a> amid his deeply unpopular war in Iran and as Americans continue to struggle with the cost. <\/p>\n “I give myself a lot of credit. I mean, I’m being thanked –win lose or draw, I’m being thanked by everybody in the party,” Trump claimed.<\/p>\n However, his persistent efforts \u2014 and encouraging his supporters to act as though he is on the ballot \u2014 appear to be backfiring, according to a recent poll. <\/p>\n While polling has shown that Democrats are likely to gain a majority in the House during the midterms, Democratic voters are more motivated to vote against the president in the November 3 elections than Republicans are to turn out at the polls and support Republican candidates, a poll from Politico<\/a> found.<\/p>\n The poll found that 48 percent of Democratic midterm voters said they are voting \u201cmainly to oppose\u201d Trump, compared to 38 percent of Republican voters who said they are voting mainly to show support for the president.<\/p>\n Trump\u2019s frenzied campaign efforts also come as his approval rating hits record lows. A New York Times\/Siena College poll <\/a>from last week put his approval at just 34 percent \u2014 the lowest for a president nearing midterms since Harry Truman in 1946. <\/p>\n
