Allianz said one policy would make it simpler for brokers to arrange cover as customers’ projects and portfolios grow.

Cover and limits

Public and products liability cover is available up to £5 million, and employers’ liability up to £10 million. The policy includes cover for alterations, additions and improvements up to £1 million per period of insurance, temporary removal up to £100,000, removal of debris and professional fees up to £50,000, and commercial legal expenses up to £100,000 for any one event.

Construction all risks cover remains available as part of the wider offering, so brokers can arrange cover from construction through to operation.

The proposition is backed by Allianz’s engineering inspection and risk prevention services, including a UK network of more than 750 engineer surveyors. The UK team can also draw on Allianz’s renewable energy expertise in more than 70 countries.

“The UK’s transition to renewable energy brings significant opportunities, but the risks are changing too,” said Karen Boothroyd (pictured), head of construction, engineering and energy for UK markets at Allianz UK.

She said different technologies carry different risks during construction and operation. Connections between equipment, supply chains and the grid also mean problems in one area can have wider consequences.

A growing, more complex market

The launch comes as renewables take a growing share of UK power. Renewables generated 52.1% of the UK’s electricity in 2025, the second year in a row above half. They reached a record 55.8% in the second quarter of 2026, according to the government’s Energy Trends statistics.

Allianz said projects are becoming more complex as the UK works towards its Clean Power 2030 ambitions, with planned investment in clean energy industries of more than £30 billion a year to 2035.

Part of a wider refresh

Renewable Energy Select is the latest in a string of Allianz UK launches this autumn. It has refreshed its Commercial Select manufacturing proposition, following wholesale and retail in September, and signed a delegated authority deal with digital broker Superscript.

For brokers with renewable energy clients, combining several technologies under one policy reduces administration and the risk of gaps or overlaps between separate wordings, a growing issue as sites add battery storage to existing wind or solar generation.

The liability limits suit smaller and mid-sized operators such as farms, landowners and community energy schemes, rather than utility-scale projects. Brokers with larger clients will need to check whether higher limits are available through Allianz’s specialist and large corporate teams. Brokers should also check how business interruption is handled, given Boothroyd’s warning about knock-on effects from grid and supply chain problems.

Renewable Energy Select covers wind, solar, hydro, batteries and more at the same site under one operational wording…

[3
70798,59,57,58,50,12636,267207,56,54,55
post-814155","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-united-kingdom","tag-allianz-uk","tag-gb","tag-great-britain","tag-greatbritain","tag-news","tag-renewable-energy","tag-solar-farm-insurance","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
