Road safety officers will be in Brighton this week as the evenings get darker to offer practical free visibility items to those who cycle and wheel.<\/p>\n
The officers from Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC), together with Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, will be encouraging cyclists to check that their lights are working properly.<\/p>\n
They will be at various locations in the city between 16:45 and 18:30 GMT from Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n
Councillor Trevor Muten, cabinet member for transport and city infrastructure, said: “Whether you’re walking, wheeling, cycling, travelling by public transport or driving, being alert and making yourself visible can make a real difference.”<\/p>\n
