With many referring to Daniel Dubois<\/a> as the top dog at heavyweight, Tyson Fury<\/a> has weighed in on whether he is, in fact, the king of his division.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old became a two-time world champion in May, surviving two early knockdowns before dethroning Fabio Wardley with an 11th-round finish<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What made this particularly impressive was the fact that, in his previous outing, Dubois had suffered a fifth-round stoppage defeat in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yet despite losing his IBF title on that occasion, the destructive puncher became a WBO champion against Wardley and is now coming off a second-round stoppage victory in their rematch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a result, many believe he is the world\u2019s leading heavyweight, despite Usyk \u2013 the lineal champion \u2013 having not yet announced his retirement.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the likes of Agit Kabayel<\/a> and Filip Hrgovic<\/a> \u2013 the respective WBC and IBF champions \u2013 would argue that they have a stronger claim to the heavyweight throne.<\/p>\n

Taking to social media<\/a>, though, Fury did not dismiss the idea of Dubois being at the top of the tree, given the improvements he has made since losing to Joe Joyce and Usyk.<\/p>\n

\u201cDaniel has done absolutely fantastic in his career; he\u2019s had some unbelievable nights in boxing, and he\u2019s had some not so unbelievable nights in boxing \u2013 like the night against Joe Joyce and the two fights with Usyk.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he\u2019s overcome [those setbacks], and he\u2019s grown with age, and I believe he is one of the best, if not the best, heavyweights on the scene at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dubois\u2019 defeat to Joyce came in 2020, when he was stopped in round 10, while his first encounter with Usyk resulted in a ninth-round knockout loss in 2023.<\/p>\n
