{"id":814715,"date":"2026-10-26T19:56:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T19:56:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/814715\/"},"modified":"2026-10-26T19:56:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T19:56:09","slug":"zab-judah-sums-up-floyd-mayweathers-chances-of-beating-ryan-garcia-in-world-title-comeback-at-49","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/814715\/","title":{"rendered":"Zab Judah sums up Floyd Mayweather&#8217;s chances of beating Ryan Garcia in world title comeback at 49"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While others believe their potential fight would be little more than a cash grab, Zab Judah has suggested that Floyd Mayweather, his former opponent, must have a \u201cstrategic\u201d reason for wanting to face Ryan Garcia.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/eddie-hearn-on-garcia-mayweather\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bizarre matchup continues to be discussed as a possible option for Garcia<\/a>, who claimed his WBC world title by dethroning Mario Barrios in February.<\/p>\n<p>Returning to action last month, the 28-year-old then retained his welterweight strap with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/cr7dm1vk7pgo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">second-round finish over Conor Benn<\/a>, before calling for a unification match with WBA champion <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/teofimo-lopez\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Teofimo Lopez<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But while that showdown could materialise in February, Garcia\u2019s lawyer and advisor, Guadalupe Valencia, has told Ring Magazine\u2019s Mike Coppinger that <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/ryan-garcia-floyd-mayweather-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a Mayweather fight is also on the cards<\/a> for next year.<\/p>\n<p>This, if terms are agreed, would be Mayweather\u2019s first professional outing since 2017 and, therefore, can only take place if the Hall of Famer agrees to put his 50-0 record on the line.<\/p>\n<p>The fight itself, meanwhile, seems largely nonsensical \u2013 given the near two-decade difference in age \u2013 yet Judah, who lost a unanimous decision to Mayweather in 2006, has told <a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/shorts\/CqkJXcV46po?si=Je41rR-PbRMAS8OD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Fight Hub TV<\/a> that the 49-year-old might have an ace up his sleeve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he takes on this fight, it\u2019s because he knows something. Floyd Mayweather does not just jump in the ring and make stupid, outlandish moves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of his moves are strategic; all of his moves are planned out.
