Council officers are considering a quick fix to make the rules about cycling in Abbey Fields clearer.<\/p>\n

Warwick District Council this year approved plans for the new cycle path<\/a> through the town centre park, which will connect Bridge Street, the new leisure centre and Borrowell Lane.<\/p>\n

But since the new Abbey Fields Swimming Pools opened with new bicycle parking in place, there has been confusion about where cycling is and isn’t allowed.<\/p>\n

Cllr Andrew Milton has asked colleagues at the district council to find a “quick way” to “make things clearer” with painted signage on the path from Bridge Street to the leisure centre.<\/p>\n

“I have put a request into officers, which they are exploring at the moment, about the route that goes from Bridge Street to the pool,” he told Kenilworth Town Council. <\/p>\n

“I have had a couple of residents who have had abuse for cycling on that piece. <\/p>\n

“Basically, they are cycling on it to get from Bridge Street to the cycle parking at the pool. <\/p>\n

“It is still technically against the bylaws to do that.”<\/p>\n
