Over the past decade, Sydney Sweeney<\/a> has put together a career that\u2019s made her nearly inescapable: She\u2019s on your TikTok algorithm sparking discourse about eugenics<\/a>. She\u2019s on the shriveled, pale lips of Donald Trump<\/a>. If you wish, she can even be in your shower<\/a>, via her bathwater-infused soap.<\/p>\n It seems like the more we hear about what Sweeney means \u2014\u00a0her body<\/a>, her possible Republicanism<\/a>, the controversy around beauty standards and race kicked off by her American Eagle ad, and her status as a political symbol to the world\u2019s worst people<\/a> \u2014 the less we know when it comes to anything substantial about her life or belief system.<\/p>\n In a new interview<\/a> with The Wall Street Journal, Sweeney talked vaguely about how much she loved working and very little else. (Of acting, she said, \u201cIt\u2019s so fun just not being yourself.\u201d) As for her breakup with her ex-fianc\u00e9, Jonathan Davino<\/a>, we got more information out of director Paul Feig than the actress herself.<\/p>\n Feig, who directed Sweeney in The Housemaid earlier this year, told the WSJ that the 27-year-old loves to work so much that she \u201creally didn\u2019t bring any issues to set.\u201d \u201cI mean, now everybody knows about her engagement falling apart and breaking off and all that,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019d say, \u2018Hey, are you okay?\u2019 and she\u2019d go, \u2018I\u2019m fine, I\u2019m great!\u2019 but not defensively.\u201d<\/p>\n Tabloid reports of the longtime couple\u2019s split first surfaced in March, with sources claiming<\/a> Sweeney wasn\u2019t ready to settle down and wanted to focus on her career. The exes, who got engaged in 2018, were seen dining<\/a> together the following month. Sweeney has never commented on the breakup publicly and once again declined to comment in this profile, telling the WSJ, \u201cI\u2019m going to keep all of my personal stuff out of it.\u201d<\/p>\n She also declined to talk about her attendance at the monstrous display of excess that was the Bezos-S\u00e1nchez wedding<\/a>, where she strolled the Venice canals with bachelors Tom Brady and Orlando Bloom. Zero was said about the firestorm of commentary surrounding her AE ad, how she feels about being a current darling of the right, or Trump\u2019s recent commentary about her.<\/p>\n What she did wax poetic about? Work, again! \u201cIt\u2019s great to do what you love,\u201d she said. \u201cBecause if you love it, then it doesn\u2019t feel like work, and you want to do it every single day, all the time.\u201d Hmmm, I feel like I\u2019ve heard that one before?
