Tales of Xillia Remastered<\/a> will launch with a bunch of welcome improvements, Bandai Namco has revealed. A couple of these enhancements were already shown in the game’s announcement trailer, but the revival’s official website has a full list of additions.<\/p>\n

The bottom line here is that the Xillia remaster seems to be a more considered package than, say, the disappointingly shoddy Tales of Symphonia Remastered<\/a>. Some of these quality of life improvements should actually make a pretty big difference to the overall experience.<\/p>\n

Here’s a quick bullet point summary:<\/p>\n

The Grade Shop can be accessed on your first playthrough, allowing you to purchase gameplay modifiers usually reserved for New Game+
\nYou’ll be given 5,000 Grade Points to spend right off the bat in said Grade Shop
\nSome Grade Shop items have had their cost reduced by 50%
\nOver 40 cosmetic DLCs are included in the remaster (although some licensed DLCs aren’t included)
\nAn autosave has been added
\nYou can toggle enemy encounters off, letting you simply pass through roaming foes
\nA retry option has been added, letting you immediately retry normal battles upon defeat
\nSubtitles have been added for various in-battle scenes
\nDashing has been added, letting you move at much quicker speeds (and you can toggle between the regular running speed and the new dashing)
\nObjective markers \/ destination markers have been added (they can be toggled on or off)
\nNew ‘!’ icons on the minimap show the locations of sub-events, and limited-time sub-events are marked with an hourglass icon
\nTreasure chest and item icons have been added to the map
\nAn option to automatically skip events has been added to the options menu
\nYou can now skip cutscenes and skits
\nA ‘NEW!’ icon has been added to inventory and arts menus to clearly mark newly acquired stuff
\nItems descriptions have been added to the Jet Black Feather trading post
\nThe ability to jump straight to the top of a menu \/ menus has been added
\nYou can now select bonus materials in batch
\nThe differences in stat increases \/ decreases have been added to the equipment menu when changing gear
\nOpening chests and item containers has been made easier (you no longer have to stand right up close)
\nCamera distance options have been added (near \/ normal \/ far) in dungeons and field maps
\nSeparate volume settings have been added for music \/ voice \/ sound effects
\nA Japanese dub option has been added
\nThe game runs at 60 frames-per-second at 4K resolution on PS5
\nThe game’s visuals have been made more vibrant<\/p>\n

Again, some of these adjustments are quite significant \u2014 especially the Grade Shop stuff, which, for example, will allow you to increase experience and money gains right from the start, removing some of the game’s potential grind.<\/p>\n
