The Real Housewives of Orange County<\/a> mom shared an update on her 14-year-old son in a recent interview with The Daily Dish, just weeks before Ace began his freshman year of high school.<\/p>\n

Heather and Terry Dubrow’s youngest son, Ace, studied at Oxford<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, he\u2019s got a [college] guidance counselor he\u2019s talking to already,\u201d Heather said. \u201cBecause, you know, you\u2019ve got to start young, figuring out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heather\u2019s husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow<\/a>, revealed that Ace had just spent two weeks at Oxford University in England, where he completed an economics program.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was purely directed by him,\u201d Heather added. \u201c[Ace] found the program, applied, got in, the whole thing. It was great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Where do Heather and Terry Dubrow’s kids go to college?<\/p>\n

The Dubrows are no strangers to the college admissions journey. Their oldest kids, 21-year-old twins Maximillia<\/a> and Nicholas Dubrow<\/a>,\u00a0are enrolled at Tufts University in Boston and Loyal Marymount University in Los Angeles<\/a>, respectively. Their second-oldest daughter, 18-year-old\u00a0Katarina Dubrow<\/a>, is also beginning her first year at Yale University<\/a>, where she is majoring in film studies.<\/p>\n

Heather reflected on Kat\u2019s first day on campus in the August 20 episode of Between Us<\/a>, her and Terry\u2019s newly launched podcast series. The parents said Kat\u2019s move-in day was unlike anything they\u2019ve ever experienced… which was both “good” and “bad.”<\/p>\n

Heather and Terry Dubrow reflect on daughter Kat’s first day at Yale<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must talk about college drop-off because oh my gosh,\u201d Heather said. \u201cSo, you all know we have four kids. We\u2019ve done this twice. And we\u2019ve done this more than twice because there was the freshman-year move-in for Max and Nicky; there was the freshman move-out; there was the sophomore-year dorm move-in \u2014 we\u2019ve done this a number of times, plus all the summer programs they went to, all that kind of thing\u2026 but that was intense, man.”<\/p>\n

Heather began by highlighting one of the \u201cgood\u201d parts of Kat\u2019s move-in day: the induction ceremony for the freshman class.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, was that not incredible?\u201d she said about the event. \u201cTheir choir was amazing, and the speeches that the dean gave\u2026 It was totally Harry Potter\u2026 Very Harry Potter-esque.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heather and Terry recalled seeing all the faculty in staff donning robes while surrounded by \u201cgorgeous\u201d but \u201ccreepy\u201d buildings. They said they were particularly moved by the speeches, which emphasized the importance of \u201cgrit,\u201d \u201ccommunity,\u201d and \u201cinclusivity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many times did we cry? We cried a lot,\u201d the OC mom said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYale knows how to do an induction ceremony,\u201d Terry added.<\/p>\n

Terry Dubrow jokes about the unpleasant parts of college move-in day<\/p>\n

Heather took to Instagram over the weekend to share several peeks at Kat\u2019s college drop-off. She said the posts garnered \u201cthousands\u201d of messages from parents who were experiencing the bittersweet moment of sending their kids off to school. However, Terry admitted that move-in day wasn\u2019t entirely mushy.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust so you know, when you drop your kids off at college \u2014 unless you have a different experience than we had \u2014 your kids are going to be douchey,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Heather explained that Kat was on edge throughout the day, which was understandable, considering she was about to embark on a major life change.<\/p>\n

\u201cKat is such a sweet, wonderful child, but even she knew she was edgy,\u201d Heather recalled. \u201cShe was nervous, of course \u2014 totally normal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt made it so easy to leave,\u201d Terry joked about the situation. \u201cAt some point, I was going, \u2018I\u2019m so out of here. Thanksgiving? Forget it. Maybe for Christmas, but you\u2019re just gonna sleep here the whole year.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Heather reiterated that Kat normally has a calm, sweet demeanor, but the transition was obviously affecting her mood.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe really wasn\u2019t even that bad, but for her, it was a change of character because she\u2019s really not like that at all,\u201d the Housewife explained. \u201cBut the great thing is that she\u2019s already made some great friends\u2026 I just know she\u2019s gonna have the best time there. She\u2019s perfect for that place.\u201d<\/p>\n
