Cut to six months later and the penultimate episode of the series and I\u2019m furious\u00a0with the bloke. It was one of the most important and tense Round Tables we\u2019ve seen yet,\u00a0with the Faithful \u2013 led by Michael Sheen<\/a> \u2013 finally starting to interrogate the right people: namely, Traitors Maya Jama<\/a> and James Acaster. And then, without warning, he simply gave up.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThey got me. I\u2019ve been caught,\u201d he said to the diary room camera. \u201cI\u2019ve always been a Faithful at heart; the reluctant Traitor. So, I\u2019m going to do what I\u2019ve done this whole game: continue to be completely honest.\u201d Yet still, I didn\u2019t\u00a0quite expect what was going to happen next. \u201cI just want to explain my situation,\u201d he nervously told his fellow players at the Round Table. \u201cI was made a Traitor.\u201d\u00a0And just like that, the wind was knocked out of the sails of the entire show.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Traitors \u2013 both the celebrity and civilian version \u2013 is only good when the Faithful are hot on the heels of the Traitors. It\u2019s something that has been severely lacking in this current series, with Maya in particular coasting through without even a hint of suspicion falling at her traitorous feet.\u00a0But that all changed in tonight\u2019s episode, with \u201cfather of the Round Table\u201d Michael Sheen promising to make the Traitors\u2019 lives \u201chell\u201d.\u00a0It\u2019s clear that this pressure became too much for James \u2013 unsurprising for a man who couldn\u2019t handle the stress of a charity version of The Great British Bake Off<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Still, at the Round Table, the fire and fury of the frustrated Faithful was laid solely at Maya\u2019s door. The best bit? She was finally\u00a0squirming.\u00a0Michael refused to drop\u00a0the topic of the\u00a0murder in plain sight, correctly deducing that the only people left in the library with the\u00a0victim, Ross Kemp<\/a>, were Maya and James A. Maya\u2019s only defence? That Michael would say that if he was a Traitor and wanted to attract\u00a0attention away from himself. She was on the ropes when Michael dropped the entire interrogation and pointed his finger \u2013 literally \u2013 at James A. \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI understand how you\u2019ve put it all together, and I can\u2019t really argue that that sounds\u00a0feasible. That sounds like it could have happened,\u201d he began. \u201cI can promise you that I didn\u2019t spray him.\u201d At this point, I was gearing up for James to launch into one of the greatest deflections in Traitors history \u2013 this was his Alan Carr moment<\/a>. But all he did was straight-up admit he\u2019d been recruited as a Traitor \u2013 and put a stop to all the fun.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n As a result, everyone at the table voted for him to be banished, yet there was still a strange, overly-cautious atmosphere in the room \u2013 as if James\u2019s fellow players still felt bad for writing his name on their slates, despite his confession.\u00a0It was a far cry from the\u00a0giddy incredulity they showed when Richard E Grant<\/a> accidentally did the same thing in the very first episode.\u00a0Anyway, the show didn\u2019t\u00a0even bother showing us who James voted for \u2013 presumably himself\u00a0\u2013 and we were robbed of any tension in the final moments of the episode. \u00a0<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time James had upended the game because he didn\u2019t want to be a Traitor \u2013 remember when he refused to take his blindfold off and sneak around with Kenny and Maya in the shield-building mission?
