{"id":820329,"date":"2026-11-01T02:06:10","date_gmt":"2026-11-01T02:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/820329\/"},"modified":"2026-11-01T02:06:10","modified_gmt":"2026-11-01T02:06:10","slug":"supplement-sold-by-whole-foods-amazon-recalled-over-possible-salmonella-nbc-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/820329\/","title":{"rendered":"Supplement sold by Whole Foods, Amazon recalled over possible salmonella \u2013 NBC Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A popular supplement sold by Whole Foods and Amazon was recalled because of possible salmonella contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration. <\/p>\n<p>Albuquerque-based Vitality Works Inc. of Albuquerque recalled one lot of 365 Whole Foods Market Standardized + Full Spectrum Blend Ashwagandha Capsules because the pills are potentially contaminated with salmonella, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/safety\/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts\/vitality-works-inc-recalls-365-whole-foods-market-ashwagandha-capsules-sold-nationwide-due-potential#recall-announcement\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recall alert on the FDA&#8217;s website<\/a> stated.<\/p>\n<p>Recalled pills, lot no. 2025-26227, were sold in white 120-count bottles from Nov. 24, 2025, through Oct. 20, 2026, at Whole Foods stores nationwide and on Amazon. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/Large-image_1_30010-31-2026-16-01-21.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>The bottles are marked with an expiration date of Nov. 13, 2028 and anyone with the pills should not take them, the FDA said.
