Work-from-home policies are holding back young Brits at the start of their careers, the boss of PwC has claimed.<\/p>\n
Marco Amitrano, chief executive of the accounting giant, said policies brought in during the Covid pandemic had \u201cgood intentions\u201d but have ultimately led to \u201cadverse consequences\u201d for young people<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cCovid didn\u2019t help and in this country in particular, post-Covid, some of the policies that the public sector- or the private sector- implemented\u2026all with good intention, butl like everything with good intention has has some adverse consequences,\u201d he told The Times.<\/p>\n He added that the \u201cfocus on mental health and wellbeing\u201d has excaberated the issue, urging employers to \u201cactively engage\u201d with their staff.<\/p>\n \u201cOnce you\u2019ve said \u2018just go home\u2019 then it\u2019s out of sight and out of control,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tSUBSCRIBE HERE<\/a><\/p>\n \t\tBack to the office<\/p>\n In a bid to combat the issue, a number of prominent employers are encouraging staff to return to the office. Many fear home working is holding back productivity and preventing younger staff from progressing professionally.<\/p>\n PwC staff are required to be in the office or with clients three days a week or 60 per cent of the time.
